Donor Drive 1/27/11

A Life Saving Event from Chiropractic Care & Sports Rehab, Be The Match and TGI Fridays!!

 

At Chiropractic Care & Sports Rehab we are personally involved in an important foundation called Be The Match.  This is a National Marrow Donor Program.  Everyday, thousands of patients with leukemia and other life-threatening diseases are hoping to get the marrow transplant that can save their lives.  70% of these will not find a matching donor in their family.  Their only hope is to turn to the Be The Match Registry.  If you qualify and are chosen as a donor, 75% of the time just a peripheral blood stem cell donation is requested and 25% of the time a surgical marrow extraction is requested which requires an overnight stay in the hospital.

We are hosting a Donor Registry Drive!  Thursday January 27th from 3-7 pm in the Tempo Medical Building, 12401 Olive Blvd. Creve Coeur, 63141 (1/4 mile West of Hwy 270 on Olive).

The day of the event Sports Zone STL, KFNS AM 590 will be doing a show from our office!!

What does joining the registry require?

• It’s a 4 step process which only takes 15 minutes!

• A volunteer goes over the medical guidelines

• Paperwork is filled out

• Denise Mosley (the Be The Match representative) will review information 

• Cheek swab sample done by the donor his or her self

• A matching donor will be notified when needed

-There is NO COST to join the Registry!

On 1/27/11, TGI Fridays Restaurant (12398 Olive, Creve Coeur) is partnering with Chiropractic Care and Be The Match Registry to help with tissue typing costs.  The day of the Donor Drive, please dine at TGI Fridays (dine-in or carry out) and mention the Donor Registry Drive.  20% of your check will be donated to Be The Match Registry!
