Gina Scognamiglio, D.C., C.C.S.P (owner)

Hi, I’m Dr. Gina. For as long as I can remember I wanted to be involved in the health field. My high school senior research project was, “women in the medical field”. I have always been determined to become one of those women.
I was a competitive gymnast and collegiate cheerleader, I spent a good deal of time in physical therapy. So, naturally, I began pursuing that avenue at the University of Louisville. I also worked as an assistant in a physical therapy office, while beginning to consider Chiropractic.
Once I started down that road it was an easy discovery. Chiropractic was it – the best fit. I couldn’t imagine any other life choice for me. I graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1999. Throughout my education, I was a tutor and teaching assistant, specifically for spinal anatomy, gross anatomy, and adjusting technique courses.
After graduation, Logan hired me as a Chiropractic Teaching Assistant, and I am currently a part time faculty member, supervising students in the student health center. At this phase in the curriculum they’re learning how to be doctors and how to incorporate everything they have learned in treating patients. It’s very rewarding.
Ten years ago I invented Chiropersonal Care, establishing my practice, Chiropractic Care, in Chesterfield. We have since moved to Creve Coeur. With further post graduate work I have achieved the degree of Chiropractic Sports Physician. So, we are now, Chiropractic Care and Sports Rehab, Inc.
Over the years we’ve grown, and added another physician, a massage therapist, fitness and nutrition and in December of 2010 I became a C.C.P.T.S (certified chiropractic posture therapy specialist). The team is amazing, and anyone who comes in the office can see how enjoyable it is going to work here everyday.
I live with my husband, Paul, here in West County. We are the proud parents of a baby girl, Mia, born 04-11-10. She is precious, fun and full of energy. My husband and I love traveling, especially cruising, scuba diving, comedy shows, spending time with our baby girl and 2 kitties.
Our friends and family keep us busy and we are both dedicated to fitness. I work out 5 days a week with a mix of different programs. My main goal is to be healthy, and to look and feel great. Even during pregnancy I was in the gym and as soon as I had the OK after having Mia I was back at it.
I get massages and chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis. I couldn’t imagine it any other way. Just so you know that, I practice what I preach.
I am a biomechanical expert. As a certified Chiropractic Sports Physician, I’ve found our particular combination of: massage, stretching, fitness, nutrition, posture, core, and chiropractic to be extremely effective.
Over the years I’ve established terrific professional relationships with many area medical doctors. I freely refer patients who need their kind of care, to them and they refer to us.
I believe that the power that made the body heals the body. Our bodies are amazing gifts. We need to give them more of a chance to do their job. My professional philosophy is to do all I can to help my patients be completely healthy and balanced, mind, body and soul.
In this complicated life we all have, our bodies get stretched right to the limits. Our health care needs to be as balanced as it can be. I feel everyone should have a chiropractor in their health arsenal. So please, call and ask why my office should be a part of your plan.
